Buyers
You commit Scraps only when you are ready to verify. Preview stays within the contract; full tree unlocks after release unless the listing says otherwise.
// SETTLEMENT
Vault is where deals close. Buyers lock Scraps in escrow, preview the code under the rules of that listing, then release payment or walk away per policy. Sellers see funds held and ship access only after release.
// TRUST
Without a neutral hold on Scraps, either side can get burned: code walks before payment, or payment clears before the repo matches the listing. Vault aligns incentives—money stays locked until the buyer confirms or a timeout or dispute path applies.
// STATES
Exact timing and windows are defined in the Terms of Service and in each deal. At a high level:
// BOTH SIDES
You commit Scraps only when you are ready to verify. Preview stays within the contract; full tree unlocks after release unless the listing says otherwise.
You see escrow active before you transfer the repo. Disputes and arbitration hooks exist for edge cases—higher ranks can participate as Overseers where rules allow.
When you are signed in, active deals and escrow state appear there.
